A military aircraft carrying an estimated 32 people has crashed in southern Nigeria.
The survival of those on board has not been immediately confirmed.
According to the Associated Press on the 5th (local time), Festus Keyamo, Nigeria's Minister of Aviation, stated in a statement that a military aircraft heading from Edo State in southern Nigeria to the economic hub of Lagos crashed at around 9 a.m. that day in the Igbokoda area of Ondo State.
It was reported that 25 passengers were on board in addition to seven crew members.
The Nigerian Air Force stated that the aircraft was an ATR-42.
The ATR-42 is a twin-turboprop aircraft manufactured by the French aerospace manufacturer ATR.
The Air Force announced that it has launched search and rescue operations at the crash site.
