U.S. entertainment and sports media outlets reported that American golf star Phil Mickelson recently checked into and was discharged from an addiction treatment center due to personal struggles.
TMZ Sports reported on October 1 (Korea Standard Time) that Mickelson voluntarily entered a treatment facility for psychological issues and has now left the center.
Mickelson, who built a legendary rivalry with Tiger Woods and captured six major golf championships, suspended his tournament play and took a break last April citing health concerns.
In 2023, Mickelson publicly confessed that he had long suffered from a severe gambling addiction.
He stated, "I crossed the line of moderation into addiction, and I have sought professional help for years."
