The South Korean women's national hockey team narrowly lost to India at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, pushing them down to the bronze medal match.
The national team, led by head coach Kim Yong-soo, was defeated 0-2 by India in the semifinals held today (September 30) at the Gifu Kakamigahara Green Stadium in Gifu Prefecture, Japan.
South Korea successfully warded off nine penalty corner threats from India in the first and second quarters, but conceded a painful goal with 1 minute and 40 seconds left in the third quarter.
They then conceded an additional field goal early in the fourth quarter.
India boasted a formidable offense in the group stage, pouring in 66 goals while conceding just 3.
With two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, South Korea launched an all-out offensive and secured three penalty corner scoring opportunities, but failed to capitalize on them.
South Korea will compete against Japan for the bronze medal on October 2 at 4:30 PM.
