Nam Ji-sung and Park Ui-seong have secured at least a bronze medal in the men's doubles tennis event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
Today (September 30), in the men's doubles quarterfinals held at the Higashiyama Park Tennis Center in Nagoya, Japan, the pair defeated Thailand's Pruchya Isaro and Maximus Jones 2-0 in 57 minutes.
By securing the bronze medal, Nam and Park became the first medalists for the South Korean national tennis team at this tournament.
At the Asian Games tennis competition, bronze medals are awarded to both teams that lose in the semifinals, without a separate third-place playoff.
Following the bronze medal won by Kwon Soon-woo and Hong Seong-chan at the 2022 Hangzhou Games, South Korean men's tennis has now secured a men's doubles medal in two consecutive tournaments.
Tomorrow (October 1), Nam and Park will play their semifinal match against the winner of the match between India's Yuki Bhambri and Dakshineswar Suresh and Chinese Taipei's Ho Chien-jui and Hsu Yu-hsiou.
