Actor Moon Geun-young shared her feelings about taking on her first fixed variety show role following her marriage, along with words of support from her husband, Jung Pyung.
On the morning of the 30th, a press conference for the SBS audition program "Our Ballad 2" was held at the SBS building in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. Director Ahn Jung-hyun and members of the "Top Ear Evaluation Committee" including Jung Jae-hyung, Cha Tae-hyun, Park Kyung-rim, Moon Geun-young, Joo Woo-jae, Roy Kim, and Jung Seung-hwan attended the event.
Moon Geun-young, who recently drew widespread attention with her surprise marriage announcement to actor Jung Pyung, who is seven years her senior, remarked at the event, "We simply held a quiet ceremony, but so many people congratulated and supported us, which made me realize, 'I am receiving so much love. I am someone who feels precious to many people.' I am deeply grateful and thought that I must live even better."
Regarding "Our Ballad 2" marking her return to a fixed variety show role in seven years, Moon said, "I enjoyed watching Season 1 immensely. I often thought, 'I would love to sit over there and listen too,' so when the offer came in, I accepted without a moment's hesitation, saying, 'I will do it,'" explaining the background behind her joining the show.
She added regarding her husband's encouragement, "Instead of anything special, he told me, 'Just listen well and do what you always do.'"
"Our Ballad 2" is the second season of the hit program that sparked a ballad craze in South Korea. Illuminating 40 years of ballad history spanning from 1985 to 2025, the show features participants with an average age of 17.9 performing their personal life-defining ballad songs with their own unique emotional sensibilities.
"Our Ballad 2" is set to premiere on Monday, October 5, at 10:00 PM.
