Actor Lee Jung-eun is taking on her first medical noir genre since her debut through 'Doctor X'.
Scheduled to premiere on Friday, October 9, at 9:50 p.m., the new SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Doctor X: Mafia in White' (written by Pyeon Seong-geun, directed by Lee Jeong-rim; hereinafter 'Doctor X') is a refreshing medical noir depicting the exploits of Gye Soo-jung, the 'mad dog of the operating room' who shatters massive absurdities with genius surgical skills that know neither failure nor compromise.
Lee Jung-eun has continued her limitless acting path across the big and small screens through works such as 'Parasite', 'When the Camellia Blooms', 'Our Blues', and 'The Journey to Gyeongju'. From friendly and down-to-earth appearances to cool and intense sides, she has perfectly melted into the characters' personalities and narratives in every project, delivering passionate performances oscillating between humor and gravity based on her solid acting prowess. Attention is focused on what kind of appearance Lee Jung-eun, who has shown new faces depending on the genre and character, will present in 'Doctor X'.
In 'Doctor X', Lee Jung-eun plays the role of Jang Hee-sook, the head of a doctor dispatch agency who chases money. Jang Hee-sook may look talkative and materialistic on the outside, but she is a clever tactician who uses her innate intuition and survival skills to manipulate the board of power struggles within the hospital.
