A Russian military Tupolev (Tu)-95 strategic bomber has crashed during a training flight, leaving six crew members dead and one injured, TASS news agency reported on the 29th local time.
According to TASS, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that a Tu-95 crashed in the Far Eastern Amur region on the same day.
The Tu-95, a long-range bomber powered by propeller engines, is known to be capable of carrying nuclear weapons.
The aircraft was flying without ammunition and crashed in a remote, unpopulated area, the Russian Defense Ministry explained.
The Russian Aerospace Forces have dispatched an investigative team to the crash site to determine the exact cause of the accident.
