More golden news has arrived from the Kurash competition at the Nagoya Asian Games. Kurash is a combat sport similar to judo, and Kim Min-young has become the first-ever South Korean to win an Asian Games gold medal in the sport, competing in the women's over-87kg category.

In Kurash, which is similar to judo but only permits standing attacks to throw the opponent, Kim Min-young faced Taiwan's Shih Liu-li-ling in the over-87kg final.
As the two athletes exchanged effective attacks in a tight, closely contested match, Shih Liu-li-ling committed a second penalty near the end of the match, sealing Kim Min-young's victory.
Kim Min-young has climbed to the highest step of the podium for the first time in South Korean Kurash history.
[Kim Min-young / National Kurash Team: Support was quite lacking and the environment was tough, but so many people stood by my side, telling me to work hard and cheering me on. I think that gave me the strength to push through and do my best.]
The South Korean Kurash team concluded this tournament with its best-ever performance, winning one gold medal and one silver medal.

Park Hyejeong, South Korea's weightlifting star aiming for her second consecutive Asian Games victory, claimed the silver medal.
Competing in the women's super-heavyweight division, she lifted 133kg in the snatch and 167kg in the clean and jerk for a total of 300kg, breaking her own South Korean record.
