Pop artist and broadcaster Nancy Lang (real name Park Hye-ryung, 50) has finalized the termination of her exclusive contract with her agency following her drunk driving incident.
According to Edaily on September 29, Nancy Lang recently completed the procedures to terminate her exclusive contract with her agency, Megaton Entertainment. Discussions regarding the contract termination took place after she was caught for drunk driving, and all related paperwork has now been completed. An industry insider familiar with the situation at Nancy Lang's agency stated, "Mutual trust was broken following the drunk driving incident, which ultimately led to the contract termination."
Previously, Nancy Lang was booked by the Seoul Gangnam Police Station on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol around 3:45 AM on September 8 on a road in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Police were dispatched after receiving a report suspecting drunk driving and apprehended her. Her blood alcohol concentration at the time was reportedly well above 0.08%, the threshold for license revocation.
After the news of her being caught broke, Nancy Lang apologized, saying, "I got behind the wheel because my home was close after having a glass or two of champagne at an acquaintance's birthday gathering," adding, "It was a careless decision." However, regarding the description that she was "highly intoxicated," she stated that it differed from the actual situation and requested that the facts be verified accurately.
Since then, Nancy Lang has continued her promotional activities by sequentially posting videos and visitor reviews related to her solo exhibition "Play: A New Language" on social media. Upon seeing this, some netizens reacted by saying, "It looks like she is not reflecting right away after being caught for drunk driving."
