Apple has fixed an error related to the so-called "panic full" issue, where devices unexpectedly restart on the recently released iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, through an iOS update.
According to the industry, Apple distributed iOS version 27.0.1 on September 29.
Apple explained that this update fixes an issue where the device could unexpectedly restart when Face ID authentication fails on the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.
Previously, reports from users emerged that the iPhone 18 Pro series was suffering from successive instances of the so-called "panic full" phenomenon, where the device suddenly freezes and then automatically reboots.
Panic full refers to a phenomenon where a device is forcibly rebooted due to a system error, and it got its name from the fact that an error log reading "panic-full" is left in the device's diagnostic logs.
Some users had claimed that they experienced the device suddenly shutting down and restarting after failing Face ID authentication.
With Apple stating in this update that it has fixed the unexpected restart issue caused by Face ID authentication failure, the existence of the error related to this phenomenon has also been officially confirmed.
