The South Korean women's national basketball team players who clinched a gold medal at the Asian Games for the first time in 12 years are trading their national team jerseys for their club uniforms and gathering in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province.
According to the Women's Korean Basketball League (WKBL), all 11 national team players who won the gold medal in women's basketball at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games have been named to the roster for the 2026 KB Kookmin Bank Park Shin-ja Cup.
Running from October 3 to 11 at the Cheongju Gymnasium, this year's Park Shin-ja Cup is set to be a stage where fans can immediately catch the heroes of the Asian Games back on the domestic stage.
Cheongju KB's Heo Ye-eun finished first in the Asian Games in assists, averaging 7.2 per game, while Busan BNK's Lee So-hee ranked second in three-point shooting, averaging 3.0 made three-pointers per game.
Players from the Japanese national team, who faced South Korea in the final, will also compete in the Park Shin-ja Cup.
Haru Owaki, who recorded 23 points and 13 rebounds in the final, and Riho Akagi, who scored 9 points including one three-pointer, have been included in Fujitsu's Park Shin-ja Cup roster.
WKBL Asian Quarter players also participated in the Asian Games.
Samsung Life Insurance's Han Ya-eun and Shinhan Bank's Huang Hsiang-ting competed for the Taiwanese national team, finishing in fourth place.
Additionally, five of the 12 players from the Mongolian national team that reached the quarterfinals will compete in the Park Shin-ja Cup as members of Ulaanbaatar.
The Park Shin-ja Cup will kick off on October 3 at 2:00 PM with a match between Incheon Shinhan Bank and Ulaanbaatar, with the preliminary rounds running through October 9.
The semifinals will take place on October 10, followed by the third-place match and the final on October 11.
