During the Chuseok holiday, a woman in her 50s killed her 70s mother with a weapon following an argument. Police have apprehended a woman of Chinese nationality and are investigating the case.

Police officers rush into a residential building and shortly after bring out a woman, placing her into a police vehicle.
At around 1:00 AM today (September 26), a woman in her 70s was killed by a weapon wielded by her 50-something daughter, surnamed A, at a multi-family housing unit in Sangnok-gu, Ansan, Gyeonggi Province.
[Nearby Resident: I woke up from sleep after hearing the sounds of police cars and ambulances. There were always so many sounds of them fighting all the time, so I just thought another fight had broken out....]
Immediately after the crime, Ms. A informed an acquaintance that she had attacked her mother with a weapon. Acting on a report from this acquaintance, police dispatched to the scene arrested Ms. A red-handed on charges of patricide.
Ms. A and her mother are both of Chinese nationality and lived alone together in the residence. According to police, Ms. A stated during questioning, "I drank a bottle of soju and committed the crime after arguing with my mother."
A police official stated, "Ms. A said she frequently had arguments with her mother," and added that police are investigating the motive and other details behind the crime.

At around 5:00 AM today, a fire broke out at a resource circulation facility located in Ganam-eup, Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province.
Three people working at the facility evacuated on their own, resulting in no casualties.
Fire authorities briefly issued a Level 1 response and engaged in firefighting operations, bringing the major blaze under control in about three and a half hours.
Fire authorities believe the fire started from plastic bags piled up containing trash and are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
