Are you enjoying your Chuseok holiday? The three-day, two-night US-China summit has officially concluded. Amid assessments that there was little substance compared to Trump's lavish and unprecedented hospitality, the White House released the details of the agreement between the two countries first. The agreement includes establishing a dialogue framework in the AI sector and ensuring that Iran is not allowed to have nuclear weapons.

Trump's hospitality continued until the very last day of Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit.
He waited in advance to greet President Xi and his wife once again, choosing the White House Red Room, decorated in red which symbolizes good fortune in China, as the venue for their tea meeting.
[Trump / US President: I think we made tremendous progress in the talks. Tremendous progress. Very positive results for both countries.]
President Xi stated that the two countries will become a relationship aimed at strategic stability based on reciprocity, adding that they should continue communication.
[Xi Jinping / Chinese President: We will have two more opportunities to meet this year through the APEC summit in China and the G20 summit in the US.]
Immediately after President Xi departed following his schedule in the US, the White House published the details of the bilateral agreement on its website.
The two leaders agreed to call AI, or artificial intelligence, SI, or super intelligence, in the future and to create a US-China dialogue channel for communication in the event of related accidents.
The White House also reported that the two sides agreed to oppose Iran's possession of nuclear weapons and the imposition of tolls on international waterways.
However, assessments point out that this is nothing new, as China has previously opposed Iran acquiring nuclear weapons and imposing tolls in the Strait of Hormuz.
Although a dialogue framework was formed, there are still wide gaps in perspectives regarding artificial intelligence regulation, and no compromise has been found on the Taiwan issue either.
US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer stated that there were achievements in trade negotiations with China and that the results will be released next Monday.
Regarding Trump's lavish hospitality toward Xi Jinping with a large-scale flyover and a red carpet, complaints are emerging from Republican hardliners and his core support base, the MAGA faction, questioning whether he went too far.
An additional meeting between the US and Chinese leaders this year is scheduled to take place after the US midterm elections in November, and the election results are expected to shape the dynamics of future negotiations.
