Advancing to the finals in first place during the preliminaries, Yeo Seo-jeong made a powerful leap from her first attempt and soared gracefully.
Placing her hands on the front of the vault table, she executed a 5.4-difficulty skill involving a one-and-a-half twist.
[Ah, that's wonderful. Nice!]
Receiving a top score of 14.466 points, Yeo Seo-jeong slightly lowered her difficulty to 5.0 for her second attempt and charged down the runway with even greater vigor.
She executed every movement cleanly once again.
Although she took an extra step upon landing, it did not pose any significant problem.
North Korea's An Chang-ok, who followed shortly after, briefly kept Yeo on edge by showcasing a high-difficulty skill in her first attempt, but she stumbled heavily on her landing during the second attempt and failed to surpass Yeo.
With a combined score of 14.483 points, Yeo Seo-jeong finished 0.817 points ahead of An Chang-ok to proudly claim first place.
Upon confirming her gold medal, Yeo expressed her joy with a bright smile, draped the South Korean national flag over her shoulders, and responded to the cheers of the spectators.

Returning to the top for the first time in eight years since the Jakarta-Palembang Games, Yeo Seo-jeong and her father Yeo Hong-chul, a vaulting star who reigned in the 1990s, have become a unique father-daughter duo who both hold two Asian Games titles.
[Yeo Seo-jeong / National Artistic Gymnastics Team: My dad cheered for me so hard. He always sends me Kakaotalk messages telling me he loves me and to do my best. Thank you.]
Today (September 25), Yeo Seo-jeong will compete in the floor exercise final, aiming for her third career gold medal and her second title of the current competition.
