Chinese President Xi Jinping, visiting the United States as a state guest for the first time in 11 years, arrived at the White House in Washington, D.C., on the 24th local time for a summit with U.S. President Donald Trump.
When the vehicle carrying President Xi and his wife, Peng Liyuan, arrived at the South Portico of the White House, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump warmly greeted them.
The two leaders and their spouses will immediately attend the welcome ceremony, during which President Trump and President Xi are scheduled to deliver brief remarks.
Following the ceremony, the two leaders will hold a bilateral meeting, which will be followed by an expanded meeting.
Later that evening, a state dinner will be held at the White House in honor of President Xi and his wife.
