Let's take a look at the weather for the four-day Chuseok holiday starting tomorrow (September 23).
First, many of you will be heading back to your hometowns tomorrow on the first day of the holiday.
While there won't be major disruptions due to the weather, you will need to watch out for dense fog.
If you are traveling early in the morning, visibility in western regions, particularly parts of the central region and the Honam region, will drop sharply to as low as 50 meters.
Meanwhile, rain will begin in the northern parts of Gangwon Yeongdong late tonight and continue until the morning of Chuseok day.
Rain is also expected to start from the late afternoon in the central region, Jeonbuk, and Gyeongbuk, though most amounts will be light at around 5 millimeters.
However, because the skies will be cloudy this Chuseok, it will be somewhat difficult to see the full Harvest Moon.
Rain in the central regions will mostly stop by early Saturday morning, while continuing in the southern regions and Jeju until the evening.
As a low-pressure system passes through the southern seas, quite a bit of rain is expected in Jeju and some southern coastal areas, so drivers should exercise caution for wet roads.
On the final day of the holiday, skies will generally be fine across most regions.
Light rain will fall only in Jeju Island until the morning.
You should also watch out for large temperature differences throughout the holiday.
Tomorrow morning's low in Seoul will be 19°C (66°F), feeling as cool as today, while daytime highs will rise to 28°C (82°F) in Seoul and 30°C (86°F) in Gwangju.
Starting next week after the holidays conclude, the weather is expected to turn noticeably cooler.
