Fire Breaks Out at Apartment in Suseo-dong, Seoul, Prompting Evacuation of 60 Residents

A day ahead of the Chuseok holiday, a fire broke out at an apartment building in Suseo-dong, Seoul, prompting 60 residents to evacuate.

The fire occurred at an apartment complex in Suseo-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at around 12:10 p.m. today (the 23rd).

Fire authorities deployed some 200 personnel and around 40 pieces of equipment, extinguishing the blaze about 1 hour and 20 minutes after receiving the report.

So far, it has been confirmed that one person is receiving treatment after inhaling smoke, while 60 startled residents were urgently evacuated.

Police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire, questioning witnesses and others.
