First-generation idol group Fin.K.L has announced its full-group reunion while unveiling a detailed blueprint spanning roughly the next two years.
The four members—Lee Hyori, Ock Joo-hyun, Lee Jin, and Sung Yu-ri—plan to meet fans leading up to their 30th debut anniversary by rolling out music and performances as the core, alongside sequential releases of documentaries, variety shows, exhibitions, official merchandise, brand collaborations, advertisements, and fan projects.
According to their agency Gemstone E&M on the 23rd, the centerpiece of this project is newly presented music and stages. The agency stated that rather than merely revisiting past hit songs, they aim to showcase a fresh identity for Fin.K.L through music and performances crafted by the four members as they are today. Having debuted in 1998, Fin.K.L left behind numerous hits such as "Blue Rain," "To My Boyfriend," "Forever Love," and "Now," raising anticipation for what kind of music they will reunite with after a long hiatus.
In addition to music and performances, a variety of contents allowing fans to experience Fin.K.L's journey in diverse ways will be unveiled sequentially. Examples include a documentary and exhibition capturing their past and future journey, official merchandise, brand collaborations, and fan-participation projects.
The overarching slogan贯通 (running through) this entire endeavor has been set as "FIN.K.L RE:BLOOM." The agency explained that it carries the meaning of not simply recreating the past, but having the four members bloom anew with fresh music, stages, and stories.
Jason Lee, Group Management Executive Director at Gemstone E&M, stated, "'FIN.K.L RE:BLOOM' goes beyond commemorating Fin.K.L's past; it is a journey where the four members and fans create the next chapter together." He added, "Through activities extending up to their 30th anniversary centered around new music and performances, you can look forward to the birth of a single K-pop legend brand." He further remarked, "We want to create a special moment for fans who have waited for Fin.K.L for a long time, and an opportunity for the new generation to encounter the group Fin.K.L for the first time."
