Cheong Wa Dae stated today (September 23) that it is not considering filing for a competence dispute adjudication with the Constitutional Court regarding Supreme Court Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae's refusal to re-recommend a Supreme Court justice nominee.
Earlier, President Lee Jae-myung requested a re-nomination without submitting to the National Assembly a motion seeking parliamentary consent for the appointment of Supreme Court justice nominee Son Bong-ki, who had been recommended by Chief Justice Cho. In response, Chief Justice Cho stated yesterday that he would not comply with Cheong Wa Dae's request.
