People Power Party Leader Jang Dong-hyeok strongly criticized President Lee Jae-myung for approving the appointment of Defense Minister Kang Shin-chul.
On his social media this morning (September 22), Leader Jang wrote, "President Lee Jae-myung ultimately pushed through the appointment of 'Gansincheolgeomin,'" adding, "He went all the way to the United States and hurriedly pressed the approval button. What was the rush?"
Mentioning the situation where military officers were injured in a suspected landmine explosion in the DMZ, Leader Jang claimed, "He insisted on installing someone who cannot even call North Korea the 'main enemy' as Minister of National Defense."
He added, "A president who should be confronting North Korea's provocations is instead fighting against the will of the people."
Defense Minister Kang Shin-chul consistently used the term 'enemy' to describe North Korea during his confirmation hearing on September 16.
Leader Jang warned, "President Lee Jae-myung has declared 'war on the people,'" adding, "A bomb of public sentiment will strike the heart of the administration."
