Late at night, the story of middle school students who helped an elderly man collecting waste paper and accompanied him all the way to the recycling center is spreading warmth.
Recently, a post was uploaded on social media stating, "I met some kind middle school students who were helping an elderly man collect waste paper and even accompanied him to the recycling center."
The accompanying photo captured the two students pulling a handcart piled high with waste paper from one side and pushing it from behind as they walked together.
The writer of the post shared the sighting, saying, "The grandfather had to walk for an hour to the recycling center, and since he said he skipped a meal, the friends were worried and said they would buy him something."
They added, "It was so admirable that I couldn't just walk past," and "I wanted to publicize this good deed."
Later, a student who revealed themselves to be involved in the story also posted an update explaining the situation at the time.
"The journey was a bit tough, but other adults also helped out, so we were able to safely make the trip in 40 minutes instead of about an hour," the student stated, adding, "If something like this happens again in the future, I want to be someone who doesn't just walk past and instead helps out." Those students are truly admirable.
