The Modu-e Green Card, a new product combining public transit fare rebates and eco-friendly consumption benefits into a single card, will be launched next month.
The Metropolitan Transportation Commission of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment announced that they will sign a business agreement for the Modu-e Green Card with the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute, and BC Card at the BC Card headquarters in Seoul on the 21st.
The Modu-e Green Card combines the benefits of the Modu-e Card, which provides fare rebates when using public transportation 15 or more times a month, and the Green Card, which earns points for purchasing eco-friendly and low-carbon products and offers discounts on public facility fees.
This product was designed to eliminate the inconvenience of having to carry separate cards to receive the benefits of both the Modu-e Card and the Green Card policies.
It will be issued by six card companies: BC Card, Kwangju Bank, Jeju Bank, Kyongnam Bank, Shsuhyup Bank, and iM Bank.
Each card company plans to provide additional Eco-Money points when users utilize city buses, subways, KTX, SRT, express buses, charge electric and hydrogen vehicles, or use shared mobility services.
The accumulated points can be used for cash cashback or to offset payment balances.

Kim Yong-seok, Chairman of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, stated, "This product, which links the Modu-e Card and the Green Card, connects transportation policy and environmental policy into a single platform," adding, "We will continuously improve transportation policies so that citizens can experience them in their daily lives."
Lee Ho-hyun, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment, stated, "We will expand incentives for eco-friendly consumption to public transportation and various daily sectors to help citizens contribute to South Korea's green transformation."
