The South Korean triathlon national team failed to enter the medal bracket in the mixed relay at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
Comprising Kim Hye-rang, Kim Tae-gi, Jung Hye-rim, and Park Sang-min, the South Korean team crossed the finish line in 4th place overall with a time of 1 hour, 28 minutes, and 27 seconds in the triathlon mixed relay final held at the Gamagori Triathlon Course in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, on the 21st.
South Korea maintained the 3rd-to-4th-place range from the first anchor Kim Hye-rang to the final anchor Park Sang-min while aiming for a podium finish, but ultimately missed out on a medal, finishing 1 minute and 2nd behind 3rd-place Hong Kong.
The gold medal went to China, which crossed the finish line first with a time of 1 hour, 25 minutes, and 54 seconds.
Host nation Japan claimed the silver medal with 1 hour, 26 minutes, and 45 seconds, while Hong Kong took the bronze medal with 1 hour, 27 minutes, and 25 seconds.
Having previously failed to win medals in the men's and women's individual events, South Korea concluded its campaign without a single medal, even in the mixed relay, which had been anticipated as a medal event.
