Hwaseong Special City in Gyeonggi Province announced on September 21 that it will waive toll fees on the Bibong-Maesong Urban Expressway during the upcoming Chuseok holiday.
Accordingly, vehicles using the expressway from midnight on the 24th through midnight on the 27th will be able to pass through toll gates without paying a fee.
"We are implementing this toll waiver so that citizens traveling to and from their hometowns can ease their transportation cost burdens," Hwaseong Mayor Jeong Myung-keun said. "We will seamlessly carry out special transportation measures during the holiday period to ensure that citizens can spend a safe and comfortable holiday."
The Bibong-Maesong Urban Expressway, built in 2017 as an 8.9-kilometer, four-lane round-trip road stretching from Yangno-ri in Bibong-myeon to Cheoncheon-ri in Maesong-myeon, is owned by Hwaseong City and operated by a private investment company for 30 years.
