▲ South Korea-Panama Foreign Ministers' Meeting
South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Panama, Bahrain, and other nations on the occasion of his visit to New York to attend the high-level session of the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday (September 21), Minister Cho held a bilateral meeting with Panamanian Foreign Minister Javier Eduardo Martínez-Acha on September 20, local time.
Minister Cho emphasized that South Korean companies are participating in major infrastructure construction and waste management projects in Panama, expressing hope that Korean firms will also take part in future mega-infrastructure projects pursued by the Panamanian government.
Minister Cho also held talks with Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
The two ministers discussed the current situation in the Middle East and agreed to continue cooperating on the international stage, including at the UN, for regional peace and stability.
In addition, Minister Cho met with Khalilur Rahman, Foreign Minister of Bangladesh and President of the 81st UN General Assembly, agreeing to expand cooperation focused on new technologies and artificial intelligence to strengthen UN-centered multilateralism.
