South Korea's women's national handball team secured its second consecutive victory at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, scoring over 40 goals for the second game in a row.
Led by head coach Lee Gye-chung, the national team decisively defeated Kazakhstan 42-18 in their second round-robin match of the tournament held at the Kasugai City Gymnasium in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, today (September 20).
Having cruised past Hong Kong 48-16 the previous day, South Korea continued its smooth sailing with two straight wins.
As Woo Bit-na poured in 10 goals, pivots Kim So-ra and Kim Bo-eun combined for 8 points, while the rest of the players also contributed evenly to the scoring.
South Korea has scored 90 goals and conceded only 34 across its first two matches.
Seeking to reclaim the top spot for the first time in 8 years, South Korea will face Uzbekistan on September 23, China on September 25, and Vietnam on September 26, before playing its final round-robin match against Japan on September 27, which serves effectively as the de facto final.
