Fire Breaks Out at Escalator of Yeouido Station Exit 5; No Casualties Reported

A fire broke out at an escalator near Exit 5 of Yeouido Station in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, at around 5:50 PM today (September 18).

While there were no casualties from the fire, it caused temporary confusion as commuters at the station during rush hour evacuated the area.

Fire authorities deployed 14 vehicles and 58 personnel, completely extinguishing the fire at around 6:30 PM.

Exit 5 of Yeouido Station is currently closed, but subway services are operating normally.
