Police are investigating a section chief-level official at Paju City Hall on allegations of drunk driving after the official crashed into parked vehicles.
Paju Police Station announced today (September 18) that they have apprehended and are currently investigating a city official in his 50s, identified as A, under the Road Traffic Act for driving under the influence.
A is suspected of driving a vehicle while intoxicated inside an apartment complex in Paju at around 9:40 p.m. on September 16, colliding with three parked cars.
Police were dispatched after receiving a 112 emergency report stating, "A car is driving around and hitting parked vehicles," and apprehended A at the scene.
It was reported that A's blood alcohol concentration level was high enough to warrant the revocation of his driver's license.
Police are currently investigating the exact circumstances, including where A started driving while under the influence.
