Son Referred to Prosecution for Assaulting 60-Year-Old Mother and Swinging Fists at Responding Police

A man in his 20s who caused a disturbance by assaulting his 60-year-old mother, who is a convenience store owner, in front of a convenience store in Jongno-gu, Seoul, has been handed over to the prosecutors.

The Seoul Jongno Police Station announced today (the 18th) that they transferred the man in his 20s, identified as A, to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office on the 7th under charges including special assault on a lineal ascendant and obstruction of official duties.

A is accused of throwing objects and assaulting his mother at a convenience store located in Susong-dong, Jongno-gu, on the 1st.

It was reported that A had worked part-time at this convenience store, where his mother is the owner.

He is also facing charges of swinging his fists and assaulting police officers who were dispatched to the scene.
