Financial Supervisory Service Governor Lee Chan-jin has participated in a traditional market sharing activity for the Chuseok holiday alongside financial institutions.
The FSS announced today (the 18th) that Governor Lee visited Bangshin Traditional Market in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, in the morning, accompanied by four financial institutions: the Korea Salvation Army, Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK), Kiwoom Securities, KB Insurance, and Shinhan Card.
Using a joint sponsorship fund of 130 million won, they purchased daily necessities and traditional market gift certificates (Onnuri gift certificates) to deliver to vulnerable groups and social welfare organizations in the local community.
While purchasing daily necessities, Governor Lee listened to the difficulties faced by merchants and said, "I hope this sharing activity helps market merchants and neighbors in need spend a bountiful Chuseok." He added, "We will continue to create opportunities with the financial sector to bring warmth to traditional markets."
Representatives from the participating financial institutions also stated, "We will continue our efforts to ensure that the financial sector can practice the values of coexistence with the local community."
