President Lee Jae-myung's press conference scheduled for today (September 18) has been delayed by 30 minutes.
Accordingly, today's conference, which was originally scheduled for 10:00 AM, will begin at 10:30 AM.
An official from the presidential office of Cheong Wa Dae explained, "This reflects how responsibly and seriously President Lee is approaching this press conference," adding, "The schedule was pushed back by about 30 minutes to allow him time to refine his remarks until the very last moment."
In particular, given the backlog of sensitive issues—such as the withdrawal of indictments, constitutional amendment allowing consecutive presidential terms, and controversies surrounding personnel appointments, including Justice Minister nominee Kim Seung-won—President Lee appears to be focusing on fine-tuning his messaging until the last minute.
Furthermore, he is also expected to be deliberating until the very end regarding what explanations to offer on foreign policy and security matters, such as the troop deployment to the Strait of Hormuz and investments in the United States.
