Jung Seung-won of FC Seoul, currently leading the K League 1, has won the EA Sports Player of the Month award for the second consecutive month.
The Korea Professional Football League announced that Jung was selected as the standout performer in rounds 21 through 26 held last month (August).
Following his win in July, Jung has thus claimed the Player of the Month honor for two months in a row.
Jung appeared in all matches in August, recording 3 goals and 3 assists, while being named Man of the Match (MOM) twice and selected for the Round Best 11 three times.
In the match against FC Anyang in the 24th round, he recorded 1 goal and 2 assists, earning him the title of Round MVP.
The Player of the Month award is determined by first selecting candidates through a 60% vote by the Korea Professional Football League's Technical Study Group (TSG) among players who were named MOM, Round Best 11, or Round MVP in K League 1 matches held over the month. This is then combined with fan votes on the official K League website (25%) and EA Sports FC Online user votes (15%) to award the player with the highest total score.
Looking at the results of this voting, Gallego (Bucheon) ranked first with 21.18% and Jung Seung-won ranked second with 20.00% in the TSG Technical Committee vote (60%).
In the K League website fan vote (25%), Lee Dong-gyeong (11.51%, Ulsan) took first place, followed by Jung Seung-won (10.90%) in second. In the FC Online user vote (15%), Lee Dong-gyeong (5.05%) also placed first, with Jung Seung-won (4.26%) coming in second.
Jung will receive a trophy and prize money, and a Player of the Month patch will be attached to his uniform for this season.
