Jung Hoo Lee (28) is experiencing a continued slump late in the season.
The San Francisco Giants' starting outfielder appeared as the starting designated hitter in an away game against the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium in Missouri on the 17th (Korean time), going 0-for-4 with one walk.
Failing to produce a hit, Lee's season batting average dropped to .274 (145 hits in 529 at-bats).
Batting clean-up as the designated hitter for the second consecutive day, Lee was retired on a left fielder's fly ball in the top of the first inning, a second baseman's pop-up in the fourth, a swinging strikeout in the sixth, and a right fielder's fly ball in the eighth.
He drew a walk in the top of the 10th inning, but failed to score.
Appearing fatigued, Lee has seen his numbers plummet in September, recording just 8 hits in 54 at-bats for a .148 batting average across 15 games this month.
He has hit no home runs and collected only 6 RBIs.
Powered by Drew Gilbert's two-run home run in the top of the 10th inning, the Giants secured a 6-5 victory.
