The YouTube video featuring (G)I-DLE member Miyeon undergoing a health checkup has sparked controversy over illegal medical advertising, prompting the local public health center to request a police investigation.
Previously, a video showing Miyeon receiving her first health checkup was uploaded to her YouTube channel.
However, as the video exposed the hospital's name, medical staff, and internal facilities allowing viewers to identify the specific medical institution, concerns were raised that it might violate the Medical Service Act regarding medical advertising.
The production team explained that they did not receive any financial compensation or support, such as advertising fees or sponsorships, from the medical institution in question.
The jurisdiction's public health center stated that it requested a police investigation because it was difficult to independently determine whether the medical institution was directly involved or if the video was provided in exchange for compensation.
