Yangcheon-gu, Seoul to Run Lifelong Learning Program 'Yangcheon Knowledge Brunch' with Seoul National University

Seoul's Yangcheon-gu announced that it will operate the lifelong learning program "Yangcheon Knowledge Brunch," featuring faculty members from Seoul National University, five times from October 2 to November 6 at Haenuri Town.

This is a relay of humanities and liberal arts lectures that has been running based on a business agreement signed with the Seoul National University Institute of Lifelong Education in 2023.

So far, approximately 3,200 people have participated across 21 lectures.

On October 2, Kwak Kum-joo, professor emeritus at Seoul National University, will lecture on "Finding Myself in Anxiety," followed on October 16 by Professor Bae Jeong-han speaking on "Parks, Reviving the City," and on October 23 by Professor Kim Dong-il on "What Is Intelligence? How to See Things Wisely."

Subsequently, on October 30, Professor Hwang Ho-seong will present "Stories of the Universe: Consolation Called Astronomy," and on November 6, Jeong Hyun-chae, professor emeritus of gastroenterology at Seoul National University Hospital, will speak on the theme of "A Happy Life Learned Through Thanatology."

The capacity for each lecture is 300 people, and any Yangcheon-gu resident can participate for free.

Yangcheon-gu Mayor Lee Ki-jae said, "I hope this will be a great opportunity to meet lectures by Seoul National University faculty members who possess expertise and depth in various fields close to home," adding, "We will continue to build a 'lifelong learning city' where learning leads to daily joy and personal growth."
