Jung Hoo Lee of the San Francisco Giants in Major League Baseball (MLB) has recorded hits for two consecutive games.
Playing as the cleanup hitter and designated hitter in a game against the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri, on the 16th (Korean time), Lee went 1-for-5 with a double and a run scored.
Batting as the cleanup and designated hitter, Lee grounded out to second base against St. Louis starting pitcher Andre Pallante in his first plate appearance in the top of the first inning. However, in the top of the third with a runner on first and San Francisco leading 3-1, he hit a double down the right-field line.
This marks his 30th double of the season.
He then scored when a subsequent batter hit an RBI single.
Lee grounded out to second in the top of the fourth, flied out to third in the top of the seventh, and struck out swinging in the top of the eighth.
His season batting average dipped slightly to 0.276 (145 hits in 525 at-bats).
San Francisco secured a 10-3 victory, snapping their four-game losing streak.
San Francisco pitcher Blade Tidwell allowed two runs on three hits with four strikeouts over 6 and 2/3 innings, earning his first win of the season and his first career starting win since his debut last year.
Song Seong-mun of the San Diego Padres appeared as a defensive substitute in an away game against the Colorado Rockies.
He entered as a third baseman in the bottom of the eighth but did not get an at-bat.
San Diego, competing for a National League wild-card spot, lost 3-9, halting their eight-game winning streak.
Kim Ha-seong of the Atlanta Braves remained on the bench and did not play in the away game against the Chicago Cubs.
Atlanta won 6-3, bouncing back from a two-game skid.
