Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed that Russia attempted to attack the Ukrainian presidential aircraft twice.
In an interview with U.S. CBS News on the 15th (local time), President Zelenskyy stated, "My presidential plane was in Moldova, and that's why they (Russia) attacked Moldova," adding, "When we returned through Chisinau (Moldova's capital) again, they did the exact same thing."
President Zelenskyy claimed that these attacks are part of Russia's strategy to intimidate foreign leaders.
Previously, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said in an interview with Norwegian public broadcaster NRK on the 9th, "The plane carrying Zelenskyy to Norway was nearly struck by a drone just as it was trying to take off from Moldova the day before," adding, "This is the reality he faces."
At the time, President Zelenskyy was on his way to Oslo, Norway, via Moldova to attend the funeral of Norwegian King Harald V, during which an external attack targeting the plane he was aboard occurred, according to the explanation.
In fact, aircraft takeoffs and landings at the airport in the capital city of Chisinau were suspended for a while on the 8th in Moldova as two drone flights from Russia entered Moldovan airspace.
