Man in His 50s Found Dead in Jindo, Body Partially Skeletoppized

A man in his 50s, identified as A, was found dead on a hillside in Gunnae-myeon, Jindo-gun, South Jeolla Province, around 9:25 a.m. on September 15.

Police and firefighting authorities located A's body while searching the hillside near his home after receiving a missing person report from his family, who stated that they had been unable to reach him recently.

At the time of discovery, A was wearing work clothes, and his body was in an advanced state of skeletal decomposition. A brush cutter, presumed to have been used by A, was also found nearby.

Investigations showed that water usage records at A's home had stopped approximately a month ago.

Police are investigating the exact cause of death through an autopsy, keeping the possibility in mind that A, who had an underlying medical condition, may have suffered a fatal incident while clearing weeds from a grave (beolcho).
