Did a foreign influencer visit Seoul and get swept up in a nuisance controversy?
This is the story of a German influencer with over 1 million followers.
Streichbruder recently posted several videos on his social media filmed in the Seoul subway and around the Hongdae area.
The footage showed him playing loud music through a speaker inside a crowded subway car while DJing and dancing.
Even after getting off the train, he continued his performance on the platform, and in the streets of Hongdae, he was captured setting up a speaker to dance and even walking out into the roadway.
As the videos spread, criticisms followed over whether it is appropriate to consume content that inconveniences others in public spaces.
In particular, concerns were raised regarding invasion of privacy as the faces of other passengers were captured clearly in the videos.
Netizens poured out criticisms, saying, "The subway is not a private concert hall," and "If you come to another country, you should at least observe basic public etiquette."
