86-year-old veteran broadcaster Jeon Won-joo is set to resume her YouTube activities with a new production team, following a previous hiatus caused by a disagreement over financial issues.
An official from her agency, Sky People Entertainment, stated on the 14th, "Jeon Won-joo's YouTube channel is currently assembling a new production team and preparing content." However, the exact schedule for content uploads has not yet been finalized.
Previously, Jeon appeared on actor Sa Mi-ja's YouTube channel on the 11th and openly explained the reasons behind her suspension from YouTube.
Drawing attention, she shared her honest feelings, saying, "When I tried to raise my payment, they said they would quit, so I just said let's do it again." She added, "I even thought about quitting, but I realized I shouldn't be too picky."
Following her remarks about "money issues," some subscribers have expressed bitter reactions, noting that Jeon is known to be a multi-millionaire with assets worth billions of won.
Previously, Jeon was embroiled in a frugality controversy after content from her channel showed her visiting a cafe with her daughter-in-law and ordering only one drink for three people. As criticism mounted over how this did not align with the prevailing cafe culture of one drink per person, Jeon and her production team belatedly stepped forward to offer an explanation and an apology.
Jeon Won-joo's YouTube channel was launched in September of last year and once drew attention by gathering 120,000 subscribers, though the subscriber count has since dropped to the 110,000 range. Last month, content uploads came to a sudden halt after the previous production team announced their departure.
