Partly Cloudy Nationwide with Daytime Heat and Very High UV Levels in the South

Today, Sunday, the holiday, will feature generally pleasant autumn weather.

You should, however, be mindful of large temperature swings, particularly in the southern regions.

Current morning temperatures are starting off cool, mostly hovering around 15 to 20 degrees Celsius.

This afternoon, while Seoul will top out at 25°C (77°F), Gwangju is expected to rise to 30°C (86°F) and Gyeongju to 31°C (88°F).

Due to strong solar radiation beating down during the day, especially in the southern parts of the country, the ultraviolet index will surge to "very high" levels today.

Skies nationwide will be occasionally cloudy today.

However, the greater Seoul area and Gangwon Province will remain cloudy through the morning, with light raindrops falling in some areas.

In the mountainous areas of Jeju Island, a small amount of rain, around 5 to 10 millimeters, is expected in the afternoon.

The current temperature in Chuncheon is reading 15.9°C (61°F), while Daejeon is forecast to climb to 28°C (82°F) this afternoon.
