Fu Bao's Youngest Sister Named "Shubao"... When Can Visitors Meet Her?

Fu Bao's youngest baby sister, who has reached 100 days of age, has received the name "Shubao" through a public vote. It is expected that the general public will be able to meet Shubao in person within this year.

Previously called "Baby Bao," Fu Bao's youngest sister has received the name "Shubao" to mark her 100th day since birth.

The name means "a treasure as bright as the morning light."

It is an international custom to give pandas Chinese names around their 100th day, and over the past two months, 230,000 citizens participated in the naming event.

Born with a tiny body weighing 171g at Panda World in Everland, Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, on June 3, Shubao has experienced rapid growth, reaching 5.5kg in just 100 days.

As the fourth panda born naturally through breeding in South Korea, she is now going through normal developmental stages, such as sleeping independently away from her mother's embrace.

[Kang Cheol-won / Zookeeper: She is starting to crawl on all fours now, and she will probably start walking around the 120-day mark. I am looking forward to seeing her grow up into an unusually gentle and mild-tempered panda.]

The "Bao Family," born between father Leibao and mother Ibao, consists of the youngest Shubao, along with the eldest Fu Bao and twin sisters Rui Bao and Hui Bao.

Fu Bao, who received immense love as the first panda born in South Korea, was returned to China the year before last under an international agreement, at which point many people shed tears while bidding a final farewell.

It is known that the twin Bao sisters are also preparing to leave for China toward the end of this year.

Everland officials stated that they are considering plans to open baby Shubao to the general public within this year, after she adapts to the external environment to a certain extent.
