A portable butane gas canister exploded inside a parked car at an apartment complex in Busan, leaving the driver severely injured.
According to the Busan Metropolitan Fire and Disaster Headquarters, an explosion occurred inside a passenger car parked at an apartment complex in Geumjeong-gu, Busan, at around 4:00 PM on the 10th. The driver, identified as Mr. A, suffered second-degree burns and was transported to a hospital.
Fire authorities believe that gas had leaked from a portable butane gas heater stored in the vehicle, and the explosion occurred the moment Mr. A struck a lighter to smoke a cigarette. Authorities are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
