Actor and influencer Yoo Hye-won has undergone questioning as a victim in connection with a case involving television personality A, whom she sued for allegedly spreading a so-called sponsorship rumor.
Yoo arrived at the Gangdong Police Station in Seoul at 4 p.m. on the 10th accompanied by her legal representative. On this day, Yoo visited the police station wearing black glasses and without makeup.
According to attorney Kim Bum-sik of Law Firm Daeryeon, Yoo's legal representative, Yoo stated during the questioning that she has no personal acquaintance, interactions, or even a prior relationship with the accused person A.
The issue began last May when person A used Instagram's "Close Friends" feature to post that Yoo had received a so-called sponsor from a famous singer and producer while already in a relationship. At the time, Yoo's side stated that the claims were completely groundless and took legal action against person A on the 27th of last month. Yoo's side maintained that as these contents spread online, significant damage was inflicted on her reputation and privacy.
Attorney Kim Bum-sik also emphasized regarding this case, "Given that Yoo Hye-won and person A did not know each other, it is necessary to investigate through the police how person A came across such information, from whom it was conveyed, and whether there was any process of verifying the facts before posting it."
The investigative authorities announced that they plan to transfer the case to the Seoul Dongdaemun Police Station, which has jurisdiction over person A's address, to proceed with questioning the accused.
Meanwhile, Yoo has been swept up in dating rumors since 2018 with former BIGBANG member SEUNGRI and basketball player Huh Ung, but did not release any official statements regarding either case.
