The first teaser video for 'The Ballad of Us Season 2,' featuring heartfelt appearances by Cha Tae-hyun, Park Kyung-rim, and Jung Seung-hwan, has been released.
Premiering at 10:00 PM on Monday, October 5, SBS's audition project 'The Ballad of Us Season 2' is the second season of 'The Ballad of Us,' which sparked a ballad craze in South Korea last year by ranking No. 1 in viewership ratings among the 2049 demographic across all episodes and recording 100 million cumulative views. In this season, contestants with an average age of 17.9 will reinterpret legendary hit songs spanning 40 years from 1985 to 2025 with their own unique sensibilities.
Released today, the first teaser video shows 'Top-Ear Representatives' Cha Tae-hyun, Park Kyung-rim, and Jung Seung-hwan delivering warm messages and songs to their 17-year-old selves, the same age as the contestants.
Looking back at the time he first met his wife, Cha Tae-hyun selected Yoon Jong-shin's 'That Long-Ago Day' and showed his enduring romantic side, saying, "That friend sitting next to you is your lifelong partner and guardian angel, so hold onto her tight."
Park Kyung-rim sent heartfelt encouragement to her past self who dreamed of becoming an MC, saying, "You're doing better than you think. I hope you continue to grow your dreams by doing your best today."
Jung Seung-hwan also playfully joked to his past self who was nurturing dreams of becoming a singer, saying, "About 10 years from now, you'll become a singer who relies heavily on your looks and sings carelessly. So please, above all else, stay fully dedicated to your singing." He then passionately sang 'I Want to Fall in Love,' which he performed during his appearance on 'K-Pop Star,' adding a touch of emotion.
Much like the Top-Ear Representatives who decorated a brilliant page of their youth while running toward their respective goals during the same period as the contestants—who have an average age of 17.9—anticipation is building for the performances of the contestants who will arrive at 'The Ballad of Us Season 2' with their own unique stories and sincerity.
'The Ballad of Us Season 2,' which will feature legendary ballad masterpieces transcending eras and generations from 1985 to 2025 alongside the stories of pure teenage contestants, will premiere at 10:00 PM on Monday, October 5.
