A multi-vehicle collision involving five vehicles, including a construction vehicle and a van, occurred near the Bukcheonan Interchange on the Seoul-bound Gyeongbu Expressway in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province, at around 5:10 a.m. today (September 10).
The accident left a total of eight people, including the driver of the van, injured, and they were transported to nearby hospitals.
Fortunately, none of their injuries are reported to be life-threatening.
Traffic congestion stretched for about an hour in the area while emergency responders cleared the scene.
Police believe the van crashed into a construction vehicle performing work in the first lane, and the impact caused it to bounce off, leading to a subsequent collision involving three following trucks and other vehicles. Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the accident.
