Professional football club Jeonbuk Hyundai remained in third place in K League 1 after being held to a draw in their away match against Gangwon FC.
In the Hana Bank K League 1 Round 28 away match held today (September 9) at the Gangneung High1 Arena, Jeonbuk failed to protect an opening goal scored by Italo in the 15th minute of the first half, ending in a 1-1 draw with Gangwon.
Jeonbuk, which has slowed down with 1 win and 3 draws in its last 4 matches, missed the opportunity to reclaim second place.
They trail second-place Ulsan by 1 point and league leaders Seoul by 16 points.
Gangwon dropped one notch to fifth place with 41 points.
Jeonbuk took the lead in the 15th minute of the first half when Italo, receiving a pass from Lee Young-jae, fired a right-footed shot from the left side of the penalty area.
This is Italo's debut goal in the K League.
Gangwon brought the match back to level terms in the 14th minute of the second half with a goal by Abdallah.
Abdallah rushed toward the goalmouth to meet a high cross sent by Yoohyeon and found the net with his right foot.
All 8 of Abdallah's goals this season have been scored after coming on as a substitute.
At the Daejeon World Cup Stadium, Daejeon Hana Citizen secured a 3-2 comeback victory over FC Anyang thanks to multiple goals by Joo Min-kyu.
Accumulating 38 points, Daejeon rose one spot to sixth place, while Anyang positioned themselves in ninth place with 34 points.
Daejeon's star striker Joo Min-kyu leveled the score just 3 minutes into the second half while trailing 1-0, sliding to finish a low cross from Lee Myung-jae with his right foot.
Shortly after, Bobsin turned the game around in the 20th minute of the second half with a lightning-fast left-footed mid-range shot from right in front of the penalty arc.
Daejeon extended their lead to 3-1 following a penalty kick by Joo Min-kyu in the 30th minute of the second half, but conceded a goal from a penalty kick by Ayllton in the 41st minute of the second half, wrapping up a one-goal victory.
Jeju SK FC defeated Gwangju FC 1-0 in their away match at the Gwangju World Cup Stadium.
In the 18th minute of the second half, a surprise left-footed shot taken by Choi Byeong-wook from the front of the penalty area deflected off Aias and went into the goal.
Gwangju, which has failed to win a single game for 26 consecutive matches (10 draws, 16 losses) since their match against Incheon United in Round 2, set a record for the most consecutive winless matches combined across K League 1 and 2.
