[Anchor] We turn now to a tragic incident involving a pet dog that died while being transported in an airplane's cargo hold.
[Reporter] On September 3, a Golden Retriever named Bubble, belonging to a Chinese owner traveling from Guangzhou, China, to the United States via Incheon, was found dead at Incheon International Airport.
Bubble was just about to celebrate his sixth birthday.
The owner stated that it took about two hours after getting off the plane to receive the dead dog, and is demanding the release of transport and unloading records, as well as CCTV footage.
The exact cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
The airline stated that Bubble was already dead inside the crate when the aircraft door was opened, adding that there were no health issues with other pets at the time and no abnormalities in the cabin environment required for transport.
Large dogs are often unable to board the cabin with their owners due to weight restrictions.
With the Chuseok holiday approaching, dog owners planning long-distance travel are growing increasingly concerned.
