Information on 220,000 users has been leaked from Gangnam Unni, South Korea's largest medical aesthetic information platform. Because the leaked data includes sensitive information such as names and phone numbers, as well as personal procedure records and consultation photos, concerns over secondary damages are growing.

User A, who has used the medical aesthetic platform Gangnam Unni for over five years, felt a wave of anxiety upon hearing the news of the personal information leak, having frequently posted procedure reviews and other details.
[User A / Victim of Gangnam Unni Data Leak: "It's embarrassing to tell people about what procedures I got done, but that kind of information could be exposed. Aside from news about platforms like Tving getting hacked, because this is a site with completely different kinds of information, I am quite worried about that aspect."]v
Healing Paper, the operator of Gangnam Unni, stated that an abnormal access attempt occurred on the system gateway used to look up Gangnam Unni consultation records on the 4th, resulting in the leakage of customer personal information.
The company explained that after detecting abnormal signs, it blocked the access route, but confirmed that the same attacker attempted to access the system through another route the next day.
The number of leaked accounts confirmed so far is approximately 220,000.
Korean users account for the largest share at 160,000, while a significant number of users from Japan, Thailand, and China are also included.
The problem is that the leaked information is extremely personal and sensitive.
It includes names, phone numbers, and email addresses, as well as consultation procedure names, hospital and doctor names, actual procedure histories, payment amounts and methods, and even consultation photos.
Gangnam Unni announced that it has notified affected users of the leak and has requested a police investigation after securing circumstances that could identify the attacker.

Experts advise that if users are using the same ID and password on other services as they do for Gangnam Unni, changing them immediately is currently the best way to prevent additional damage.
