▲ Coast Guard conducts search and seizure operations related to the capsized tugboat accident
The Coast Guard has launched a compulsory investigation into the capsizing of the tugboat TNS Catcher off the coast of Busan that occurred on the 2nd.
The Busan Maritime Police Station conducted searches and seizures today (the 8th) at five entities, including the shipping company and related associations, as well as relevant organizations.
The Coast Guard plans to determine the exact cause of the accident by analyzing the evidence secured through these search and seizure operations.
Immediately following the accident, the Coast Guard deployed 41 investigators to establish an investigation headquarters.
The TNS Catcher capsized while conducting towing operations in waters approximately 9 kilometers east of Oryukdo on the 2nd.
Out of the eight crew members on board, one was rescued, while another was found unconscious and later died.
The remaining six are still missing and search operations are underway, but they have not yet been found.
